The biggest challenge I face with scheduling or journaling is that it never seems to be enough. I stay very active outside of the classroom and my teaching roles, as I enjoy being involved in the community. At the same time, I don’t want to forget about important family and social events.
I’ve tried using a purely paper-based system and a fully digital one, but neither felt quite right. A hybrid approach seems to work best for me, but staying consistent is difficult when so many things are constantly coming my way. I’m naturally creative and love color coordination, but finding the time to organize everything the way I’d like can be a challenge—hence why I’m always on the lookout for an assistant! 😂
I think I need to try a weekly planning session that I also put onto my calendar or schedule. Maybe that will help.
It was fun listening to the different ways you used your journals/planners and what they meant to you. I use Google calendar and index cards to track my to do list.
I need to adapt to Google calendar more. So many colleagues use it.
(Shrugs) It's free, and ubiquitous. It integrates with a lot of different tools. You can integrate it with Google Tasks.
Congrats on the new podcast! I love hearing your voices. I use my Google calendar for everything. It works for me.
Thanks, Linda!!

Thank you for the discussion this week!
You're welcome! And I think you're on the right track. Everyone just has to find what works for them. And an assistant sounds like a great addition.
